August:
Skyler started 2nd grade! This school year started off as a small challenge. They changed the curriculum at school, so the teachers are having to learn it as well as the students. Slowly, they are all catching on & getting the hang of things. She did get her first report card last week & achieved all A's & B's for the first 9 weeks! WHOOOHOOO!
Skyler also turned 7 in August. Where does the time go? My baby girl is growing up too fast!!

September:
We started off the month right - with revival! It was wonderful! We were able to spend quite a bit of time with our dear friends Bryan & Angie Samms (the evangelist & his wife for our revival) throughout the week & wait with them on news of their baby girl! Their daughter was born September 27 - Adrianna Nicole is beautiful in every way & we are rejoicing that everything worked out perfectly with her birth & adoption! They came to visit a few weeks ago & we got to hold her & all that good stuff (the kind of stuff that makes you want another one)!!

Grady turned ONE - my little bug is already a year old! He celebrated by taking his first steady steps the week before his birthday! We love this little guy so much - what a blessing both of our children are to us!

October
Not too much happened in October. We've kinda settled into our fall routine. Rachel Beth has transferred to another department. This was a huge blessing as she was not really actively searching another position, but we were praying for a change at the office if that was what the Lord wanted. This kinda "fell in her lap," so to speak - we know the Lord's hand was in it all from the beginning!
Chris filled in for the pastor last week as he was out due to surgery. You may know that he had major surgery back in the spring & recovery was extremely hard & painful & he was discouraged that it held him out of the pulpit for so long. We are very thankful that he has recovered very well from this surgery & should be back in the pulpit tomorrow night! Praise the Lord!
Rachel Beth's parents came for an extended visit a few weeks ago. We were able to spend several days enjoying their company.
Prayer Requests
**Continue to pray for our pastor & his continued speedy recovery.
**Rachel Beth's cousin - they discovered a hole in her colon last week that had made her very sick. The dr.'s have repaired the hole, but she is still in pain & in the hospital. She has a temporary colostomy - they are hoping to be able to remove it down the road.
**We are traveling to the great state of TX for Thanksgiving. Rachel Beth's family will be meeting there for the holidays as a "sending off" for her brother. He leaves for Iraq on November 28. Please pray for our traveling fund to come in completely, safe travel there & back, & most importantly for RB's brother as he prepares for his second deployment with the Army.
That's all for now! Hopefully it won't be three months before you receive another update from us!
