Happy Birthday to my Skyler! Today is her one year spiritual birthday. The morning that she came to Chris & I to let us know she had asked the Lord into her heart and life was truly one of the best moments in my lifetime of being a momma.
She went back to camp last week and made several decisions while she was there. Most specifically, she asked the Lord to help her with her attitude. She told us that she realized that what goes into her mind affects her heart and usually comes out of her mouth (words of wisdom from an almost 9 year old), so she made a promise to the Lord to not watch tv shows with children that have bad attitudes. These were big decisions for her & I am very proud of her making them on her own conviction from the Holy Spirit and then coming to tell us about them of her own will. She had a great week at camp! What a blessing camp ministry has been to Chris & I - we were both saved at a young age while at church camp. We have always stressed the importance of camp over the past 10 years of ministry.
Have a blessed day!
"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think..."

The Ant & the Contact Lens
Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was very scared, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took hold of the rope, and started up the face of that rock.
Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda's eye and knocked out her contact lens.
Well, here she is, on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn't there.
Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She w as desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it.
When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but there was no contact lens to be found. She sat down, despondent, with the rest of the party, waiting for the rest of them to make it up the face of the cliff.
She looked out across range after range of mountains, thinking of that verse that says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me."
Finally, they walked down the trail to the bottom. At the bottom there was a new party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?"
Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across the face of the rock, carrying it on it's back.
Brenda told me that her father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a picture of an ant lugging that contact lens with the words, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's aw fully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You."
I think it would probably do some of us good to occasionally say, "God, I don't know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will."
God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

Heavenly Father
Grady's dinnertime prayer last night:
"Heavenly Father (comes out "Faddah"), thank you for God, thank you for food, please send me a boy baby! Amen!"
I asked him last night what we would name a baby boy if that is what mommy has. His answer? "Soccer ball!" Oh, the innocence of a 2 year old!
One more day! Skyler comes home tomorrow! YAY! Chris talked to the youth pastor today & she is doing just fine - having a blast with her buddies! I can't wait to see her & hear all about her week. Next week marks her one year spiritual birthday - it was last year at camp that she was saved! What a blessing!
I still haven't decided on where to go for dinner tonight! There is a B&B in town that serves only on the weekends and we've been dying to try it, so I'm leaning towards that.
Have a great weekend!!!

A Night Out?
What's that? My sweet husband says tomorrow (Friday) night he has found a temporary home for Grady for a few hours and he would like to take me out-my choice. Where do I want to go? What do I want to do? So many decisions to make!
What I could really go for is dinner at Cracker Barrel! I know, I know - I'm weird, but Corinth does not have one. Can you believe that? I thought all towns had a CB! The closest one is about a 45-50 minute drive in Tupelo. Hmmmmmm.....
And yes, I'm still missing her! This week is going by soooo slooooww!

Camp Time
Skyler is gone to camp for the week. I officially know what it feels like to be the mother that puts her child on the church van and not the youth pastor's wife that gets to go with her! *sniff, sniff* Gradybug is a little lost right now. He's missing his big sister as much as the rest of us!
