Update

It's been over a week since I blogged, so here I am.

We had a wonderful week with our juniors at Southland Christian Camp. Skyler survived her first week of church camp & had a blast! On Thursday morning she found her daddy outside the dining hall and told him that she had asked Jesus to come into her heart and save her! What a blessing to hear those words from your child!

Grady had fun at camp and met a new friend. Aidan is the son of a local youth pastor/wife. Chris & I enjoyed the adult fellowship while the boys hit it off. Isn't Grady one cool dude in his shades & new hat?!

Last week was busy. Chris stayed on the run all week long putting some finishing touches on the new building at church so that we are set and ready for our building dedication on this coming Sunday. We are excited about what the Lord has in store for our new facilities.

Our bus has constantly given Chris grief since we bought it over 3 years ago. The first year (2005) that we took it to camp, it broke down on the way home. In 2006, it broke down on the way to teen conference, 2007 it broke down again on the way home from teen conference. Guess what, about a month ago, it broke down AGAIN on the way to teen conference. It has been worked on and worked on & the shop that did all the work guaranteed us that it would no longer do what it was doing. They put it in writing. Chris left yesterday morning with 13 teenagers headed out for another week of camp & broke down about 1/2 way there. They were able to rent a 15 passenger van and squeeze all the teens and their luggage on & made it to camp about 7:00 last night. We are praying the bus is fixed so that they can drive it home on Saturday as the rental van was only available for 2 days and he has to drive it back tomorrow by 4:00 p.m.

My mother/father-in-law are here for the week helping me with the kids while I am at work! I received a new blessing on Saturday - Chris has allowed me to have a puppy. He found out about a 6 week old Dachshund male puppy that was being given away. "Browning" is so cute & already a perfect fit to our family. Grady is not sure about him, but both kids are warming up to him. Chris took the camera with him & I haven't been able to take pictures with it yet, but I will post some next week when he is back.

Last Monday, my mother found out that she has colon cancer & will have surgery to remove it this Wednesday. The dr.'s/surgeons are pretty sure that the cancer is contained to that one area and not in her lymph nodes, but will know more once the surgery is done. Please pray for her tomorrow afternoon.

I'll leave you for today with one more photo of my kiddos. One is Skyler and her friends at camp & the other is Grady helping mommy out with the laundry.
